Nearly every week, the construction industry loses one of its mates to suicide. So, the gloves are coming on! We’re calling all Auckland tradies who want to fight for a good cause to sign up for the inaugural Hirepool Clash for Construction charity boxing event. 100% of funds raised from the event go to the charity ‘Mates in Construction’.
If you’re an Auckland tradie keen to fight for good or even want to tick off the bucket list of getting in the ring, we encourage you to join us. Competitor safety is the number one goal to ensure each participant gets to go home safely. All fitness levels are welcome, full training is provided (12 week training camp) and no experience having previous fights is necessary, in fact it’s ideally desired that participants haven’t fought before. Matchups for the fights are done with similar skill and confidence levels to ensure a fair and even fight.
Hirepool General Manager Sales & Marketing, Gary Richardson, explains, "We've been serving the trades for over six decades. The Hirepool Clash for Construction charity boxing match is all about giving back and helping to reduce the horrific statistics about suicide in our industry. Every dollar raised will go straight to Mates in Construction. These legends provide support and resources to those who need it most. By getting in behind this event, we’re hoping to raise awareness about the importance of supporting mental wellbeing in the construction industry.”
