The Hirepool Baitmates Fishing Comp is back for 2023. Whether you're a trophy hunter or you've perfected the art of catching pannies, this is the fishing comp for you.
While the angler numbers for this comp keep getting bigger every year - it's not size that necessarily counts for this comp. As well as 1st to 3rd prizes for the longest fish across each different species, there's also 3 mystery prizes for each species - so anything legal will be a contender and potential prize winner.
You can fish in your own backyard, in your own time anytime through April for the chance to hook a share of over $40k in prizes, including a grand-prize of charter with Fishing & Adventure's Scott & Mig.
The entry fee is only $40 for the general public and $30 for Hirepool Trade Account Customers. Plus all anglers receive an angler pack that can be collected from your designated Hirepool Branch in March. This pack includes the official competition measure mat, competition t-shirt and other goodies.
So come on all you pannie slayers out there, bait up and be in to win.
Registration for this year's comp close on February 22. Enter online at https://hirepool.fishingcomp.co.nz/
This year, we're partnering with Coastguard New Zealand to help promote their initiatives and inform competition participants about boating safety and when entering anglers will have the opportunity to make a $5 donation to Coastguard.
