We at Hirepool welcomed the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) to our Mount Wellington Branch on March 16 to get hands on with our equipment!
NAWIC's Auckland chapter was made up of project managers, quantity surveyors and specialists in the construction industry, who do not often get the chance to get behind the tools that are found on sites across New Zealand.
Along with Youngman & Richardson, our team were at the side of attendees giving them the rundown of the equipment and how to use them. After that, it was high-vis on and hands on for the women! Plate compactors, rollers, a mini excavator, access machines and one chipper, were at the disposal of the women.
"Its a great turn out and it's about having a good go." Simone from Naylor Love says as a Quantity Surveyor, she does not get to use the machines.
Christine Capri from NAWIC said it has been a great way to try all the equipment they always see but never touch.
The evening ended with a few snags, drinks, chats and the eagerness of another hands on event in the near future. Thanks again to NAWIC for organising such an awesome event for those in our industry and Youngman & Richardson for assisting with their expertise and own hands on guidance.
