Hirepool has an extensive range of standard and specialist chainsaws to hire for tackling any trimming or felling project. A professional-grade chainsaw can cost a pretty penny, and a cheap chainsaw, well, it’s not quite the same. Hire our regularly maintained gear and feel the difference. You’ll get your job done faster, safer and with less effort when you hire from the great range of chainsaws at Hirepool.
Need help selecting the right chainsaw for your job? Let’s take a look at the range, and some important things to know before you get started.
Using a chainsaw is a great way to cut down project time and manual labour, as well as provide a clean-cut finish and more power to get the job done.
Using any power tool requires attention to safety, and knowledge of the tool itself to allow you complete jobs efficiently and without incident. How a chainsaw works
A chain of blades sits on the perimeter of the guide bar, which spins quickly and effectively due to either a petrol or battery powered engine.
The consistent motion of the spinning blades, otherwise known as teeth, makes for far easier cutting compared with a manual hand saw.
When it comes to chainsaw safety, you should be mindful of both your cutting technique and any hazards that may come from what you are cutting.
Before and during chainsaw use, it’s important to keep hazards in mind.
When you hire a chainsaw from Hirepool, you are required to read our instructions for use sheet, which can be found either on our website, attached to your contract, or by scanning the QR code on your equipment's green tag.
The instructions for use sheet covers:
Hirepools range of chainsaws include both battery and petrol powered models. We carry both Stihl and Husqurvana.
With a run time of about 40 minutes per charge, Hirepool’s battery-powered chainsaws are the perfect choice for trimming jobs around the home and cutting up light firewood.
Battery chainsaws give you great access with no power cords to worry about when operating. These low maintenance, lightweight chainsaws are quieter when in use, and are easy to operate.
With a 14” to 16” bar, they can cut through small to medium-sized branches, no problem. Hirepool provides two batteries upon hiring allowing you to keep one on a charge while you use the other.
Petrol chainsaws provide more power for domestic and light commercial use. They make light work of cutting firewood and limbing small/medium-sized trees.
The ability to refuel on the go makes petrol chainsaws ideal for remote locations or areas where power is not easily accessible.
With a range of bar sizes available from 16” to 18”, 20”, and 24” to 30” - petrol chainsaws offer options to suit any project.
If you’ve got a bigger cutting job, our 20” bar petrol chainsaw is ideal for medium firewood jobs, or medium-size tree felling. The suggested wood diameter on this saw should be no larger than 18”.
Our 24” to 30” bar petrol chainsaw, is best suited for commercial jobs and is designed for professional use within forestry and big timber harvesting. This saw is better suited for experienced hands.
If you’ve got some branches that are sitting just out of reach, our battery and petrol powered pole saws are capable of extending to 3.9 Meters in length.
These are ideal for tackling areas where ladders and scaffolding can’t be set up such as tight sections of the garden with uneven ground.
Lightweight and easy to use, pole saws are essential for garden maintenance.
Hirepool also offers a selection of specialized safety equipment for any size sawing job.
Chaps, which can be hired from Hirepool, are essential for protecting against debris and preventing any incidents.
We also carry gloves, goggles and hearing protection, which are required when operating a chainsaw. We recommend you’ve got some sturdy footwear and snug-fitting clothing on hand too.
If you have a large amount of wood to cut, ask for an extra chain, fuel and oil which your local Hirepool branch can provide. If you’re unsure of how to change a chain, we have an instructional video that will walk you through the steps.
If you need help transporting the wood, Hirepool has a range of trailers, chippers and wood splitters to help you transport your wood, smarter. If you’d like more information, our friendly Hirepool staff will be happy to answer any of your questions.
